1. Who is responsible?
MAROQ is responsible for processing personal data as described in this privacy policy. You can contact us via the contact page.
2. What personal data do we process?
Depending on how you use the platform, we may process the following data:
- Account data: name, email address, password (hashed), role/user status.
- Company data: company name, (business) address, country/region, website, Chamber of Commerce/registration number (if provided).
- Contact data: phone number and contact person (if provided).
- Profile and offer data: categories, services, certifications, descriptions, photos/documents you upload.
- Communication: messages or requests you send via forms or inquiries.
- Technical data: IP address, device/browser information, log files (for security and troubleshooting).
- Cookie/consent data: your cookie preferences (localStorage/consent).
3. What do we use this data for?
We process personal data for the following purposes:
- creating and managing accounts;
- displaying company profiles (B2B) and facilitating contact between companies;
- customer service and answering questions;
- security, fraud prevention and abuse detection;
- technical management, maintenance, debugging and improvement of the website;
- complying with legal obligations (where applicable).
4. On what legal bases (GDPR)?
We process personal data based on one or more of the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract (platform service/user account).
- Legitimate interest (security, fraud prevention, quality improvement, support).
- Consent (e.g. non-essential cookies, if used).
- Legal obligation (if applicable).
5. B2B profiles: what is visible to others?
MAROQ is a B2B platform. If you create a company profile, certain data may be visible to other users, such as company name, sector/categories, description, location (country/region) and contact options you provide.
Do not upload personal data or documents you do not want to share. You decide what information you place in your profile.
6. Retention periods
We do not retain personal data longer than necessary for the purposes in this policy, unless a longer retention period is legally required. Guidelines:
- Account and profile data: as long as your account is active. After a request or termination we delete or anonymize where possible.
- Communication/inquiries: as long as needed for handling and follow-up, then limited retention for evidence/administration if necessary.
- Technical logs: as short as possible, mainly for security and troubleshooting.
7. Sharing with third parties
MAROQ does not sell your personal data. We only share data when necessary for providing the service, for example with:
- Hosting/IT providers (server, database, email delivery) — solely for technical execution;
- Relevant service providers when you request it (e.g. guidance or verification, if offered);
- Government authorities if we are legally obliged to do so.
Where required, we enter into data processing agreements with processors.
8. Security
We take appropriate technical and organizational measures, such as access control, password hashing, security logging, and limiting access to data.
Note: no system is 100% secure. Use strong passwords and do not share your login with others.
9. Cookies
MAROQ uses functional cookies/techniques necessary for the website to work (e.g. cookie consent). If we use analytics or marketing cookies in the future, we will ask for consent.

11. Complaints
Not satisfied with how we handle personal data? Contact us. You also have the right to file a complaint with the supervisory authority (Dutch Data Protection Authority).
12. Changes
MAROQ may update this privacy policy. The most current version is always available on the website.
